credenza restoration
I don't know if I would prefer the original wood, maybe just restained... but I do love this restored credenza on Design Sponge.
projects
I finally made a necklace with my shells from Costa Rica! The other one is made with white feather ornaments, but it may need something else.. A work in progress. The last photo is a dress I got from the thrift store for $1. It's horrible, I know. But I'm going to attempt to make it cute. Check back for an update...

man on wire
I just saw this movie and it has left me with something beautiful. I don't want to go on with cliche' after cliche' about how possibilities are endless, so i will just tell you to go see this movie. la vie est étonnante! (you will feel so..)

treasures washed up on the beach
I'm speaking figuratively, since I didn't find all these things in the sand (except for the shells!). But these are my recent treasures, as of last weekend that I've found. I was pretty excited about the bowls, even as I was thinking $14 was more than I wanted to spend on the mushroom bowl from Finland. But now I am really happy about my purchases and eyeing my living room for a new set-up. I bought the glass bowl for $3 and filled it with my shells, which hopefully will fill up more with some starfish and sand dollars. I am still sad about l's confiscated sea urchins left in costa rica. How nice would it be to have a little bowl of those?

let's plant a garden.
Unfortunately, my house doesn't allow for much light to come in, so having the array of plants I would like isn't really possible. I have started a small collection of succulents, which I either want to have in single mini pots, or collectively in one pot. or both! Also, I'd like to start an herb garden. Although, all of these things, I feel should wait until I have proper lighting. But I did find a couple pots that looked like they may either help my watering issues, or I just like how they look. I wish I could've taken some of the air plants we saw in the forest, in Costa Rica. I have been talking about putting together a terrarium for ages!!
Self watering pots, bullet planter $160 here... or here,

looking for my match
So today I've been thinking about furniture. Yesterday I bought this little table at an estate sale, and unfortunately did not have the money to buy the coffee table to match it.. Or even more so, we didn't have the room in our car because between the three of us we bought: a couch, three chairs, a bookshelf, my table, vintage dresses, a carry-on bag and dishes. So I'm sad now that I didn't get both because I'll need to find something that works. So I've been looking online and have found and been reminded of other pieces of furniture that I'd love to have. I really need to redecorate my house. I have so many ideas but too many mismatched eras in my house. How do people on Design Sponge do it??
Here are some other things I'd like to have. The Eames rocker will be perfect in my baby room. :)
lw- this arch lamp isn't the one we always talk about, like the one below... but it's only $199 from here.
these chandeliers are from here. I don't really like the brassy part, but it's the closest one I could find to the vintage ones I like. I like the even smaller ones that just cover the light, too.
This isn't furniture, but I found this on Design Sponge and thought it was a great idea. My friend, L* found some other really nice ideas for making wine bottle oil lamps. She has a collective on a table outside and it's pretty all together. This one is more like a tiki torch. click here to learn how to make your own.
I love this little set-up (from D*S) too. It would be so nice to wake up and read, drink orange juice and look out the window at this sweet, lil' table. Although I think I want a more rustic table. I'll see if I can find the one I like...
I think I would prefer it straight and more narrow, but thick pieces of stained wood. We saw one once at Crate & Barrel but it's long gone now. z really liked it too. This one is from Viva Terra.
